Turn Up Tuesday: Kendrick Lamars Debuts "King Kunta" Video

Kendrick Lamar is one of the biggest rap stars of our generation. Known to always cross boundaries and switch up his flows, Kendrick's fan base has huge following. 27 yr old Kendrick has been rapping for years but found main stream success with his last album, m.A.A.d City . That album includes songs like "bitch don't kill my vibe", "Poetic Justice" , "Money Trees" and many more. I am a big fan of his because he music provokes thought and each song has a story. Lamar's music is so important in this generation where anybody can be a rapper just saying dumb quotes and adding auto-tune (lets be real). 

Kendrick recently had people going cray again when he released his single "I" which has a retro rap feel and he even free-styled the song on the radio. This song along with his new joint "King Kunta" will be featured on his album To Pimp A Butterfly. His new album dropped last month and I will say that this is the best album of 2015. He really took his time choosing beats and music that would enhance his work. I will even say this is worth purchasing the CD because the quality is just that amazing.

Chicago Femcee, Tink , Breaks The Mold With New Record "Ratchet Commandments" Prod. By Timberland

20 year old rising rap star, Tink, first made waves when she released her debut hit single "Bonnie & Clyde".  The track blew up in her hometown, Chicago, and eventually made its way to ears all across the country.  Since then, this concious beauty has made tracks with other big Chi-town artists such as Lil Durk, Jeremih and Chief Keef to name a few. Hit producer, Timberland, reached out to the artist and has taken her under his wing. Timberland even said that his former protegee, Aaliyah, came to him in a dream and told him Tink was the one. 

Tink is currently working on a new album produced by Timberland that is said to come out this summer. She already has buzzin track, "Around tha clock" featuring some commentary from The Breakfast Club DJ, Charlamagne The God that will be on the album. Tink also recently came out with a video to her new single "Ratchet Commandments" that brings awareness to the way people act these days ; lowering ourselves to be poppin on the gram or to get money. With bars like " I told Tim Like , Im irritated, devastated// I thought, I thought we had some young queens, what you mean//We act belligerent, generation of ignorance." The song was even featured on Love & Hip Hop New York ( how appropriate lol).  Check out the Video Below.

Soulful Sunday: Battle Cry- Angel Haze Ft. Sia

Raeen Roes Wilson better known as Angel Haze has been make waves in the rap game lately. This Detroit born stunner is signed to Universal records and debuted her first album, Echelon, in August 2013. Angel recently collaborated with mega pop star, Sia, for her new hit single "Battle Cry". She is the definition of a tough chick and she is a proud self admitted bisexual. Lavell Krump better known as David Banner has lately been speaking out on controversial issues such as race, war, and politics. He has changed his life and is now dedicated to dropping knowledge about race matters in America. On this track titled "Evil Knievil" , Banner talks about past racial crimes against blacks such as Rosewood, stop & frisk, black wall street and more. I encourage all my readers to listen to this track because we need more rappers to send out positive messages.

Truth Music : B.O.B's new track "New Black"

One of my favorite artists out right now, B.O.B, from ATL put out a new joint called "New Black". Bobby Ray is known for his catchy flow and conscious lyrics. A lot of his new fans know him for commercial success with songs like "Airplanes" feat Haley Williams and "Nothing on You" feat Bruno Mars. His latest track tackles being black in America and with recent events this track really makes you think. This is the music that we as young people need to be listening to instead of mind-numbing twerk songs. I mean twerk songs are cool( i twerk lol ) but its also cool to have some conscious music in ya playlist. Check Out Adventures Of Bobby Ray out in stores and itunes now !!
